Mehmet Arslan, owner of Hidrolift Sanayi Makineleri Tic. Ltd. Şti. who suggested that firms that make unlicensed production will be eliminated from the market in time stated that "There is raw material and qualified intermediate staff shortage in the sector".

SMEs talk is hosting a 40 year old industrial enterprise this week. Mehmet Arslan, owner of Hidrolift Sanayi Makineleri Tic. Ltd. Şti. which is among leading cylinder producers in Europe with an annual hydraulic cylinder capacity of 80 thousand and with its 200 employees, has answered our questions.

What can you say about your firm, your production, your subsidiaries and added value you provide?

The purpose of establishment of Hidrolift is to manufacture construction equipment spare parts and repair hydraulic cylinders. Our company that broke through in technology and business capacity has been among known firms in OSTİM with its 50 personnel and 2thousand meter-square closed area in 1994.
The early 2000s has been the years in which Hidrolift broke into European market. Hidrolift accommodated rapidly and as of 2010 it has started exporting 65 percent of its production to world's leading brands including almost all European countries and USA. Today our annual output is 80 thousand hydraulic cylinders. We are among leading cylinder producers in Europe with our 120 employees and 2 branches. Most of our employees are composed of experts in their subject and experienced engineers and technicians. Risk analysis were performed by considering components that will threaten worker's health and safety within factory site and risks have been minimized. Factors such as in-plant temperature, air-pollution and humidity are always kept under control.
Costs should be reduced

What are your expectations from the government?

Costs should be reduced in terms of price advantage to enable our country to compete with firms in world countries. Electricity being in the first place, natural gas, labor costs, SGK costs corresponding to employer part and other taxes collected by the government should be reduced to reasonable levels. In addition necessary measures should be taken in terms of placing importance to quality in production of some products in our country in order to prevent foreign source dependency in raw materials.
Seizing a place in the foreign market is very difficult due to increasing competition and low profit margins. Protecting present market requires an effort on its own. Sales are made at par with production prices due to these reasons and due to pressed exchange rate. Therefore exchange rates should be reviewed according to present conditions.
